THE MAKING OF A LEGEND
Dan Henderson’s journey from an elite wrestler to a global combat sports icon is a story of relentless determination and historic achievement. Forged on the mats as a two-time Greco-Roman Olympian for the United States, Henderson built a foundation of unparalleled grappling prowess that he carried into the world of mixed martial arts. His legendary career saw him conquer the sport’s biggest stages, from the early days of the UFC to Japan’s iconic Pride FC. It was in Pride that he made history, knocking out the fearsome Wanderlei Silva to become the first-ever simultaneous two-division champion in a major MMA organization. His reign of dominance continued in Strikeforce, where he captured the light heavyweight title, and was immortalized in the UFC with one of the most replayed moments in sports history: his devastating knockout of Michael Bisping at the landmark UFC 100 event.
After a storied career in the cage, Dan Henderson has channeled his champion’s spirit into building a business empire and giving back to his community in the Temecula Valley. He is the founder of Dan Henderson’s Athletic Fitness Center on Jefferson Avenue, a premier facility for fitness and martial arts that has become a cornerstone of the local Southern California combat sports scene. His entrepreneurial vision expanded with the opening of Hendo’s Barrel House, a unique destination that combines a craft brewery, distillery, and steakhouse, adding a signature landmark to Temecula’s vibrant culinary landscape. Beyond business, Henderson is deeply committed to philanthropy, hosting the annual Hendo’s Charity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Journey at Pechanga and the beloved Hendo’s Pig Roast, raising significant funds for charitable causes and cementing his legacy not just as a fighter, but as a pillar of the Temecula community.
